Hi everyone! I'm Melanie! I'm a photographer newly based in New England. I currently work full-time in marketing and have been a wedding photographer since 2017! I began my wedding photography journey in Georgia working for Grapefruit Photo in Atlanta, making a total of five years as a Grapefruit Photo photographer! I absolutely loved every minute of it!
My background is in photojournalism. I earned my BA in photojournalism at the University of Southern Mississippi and dreamed of a documentary/news photography career. While I spent a few years in the news industry as a visual storyteller, I pivoted to marketing and wedding photography over time. And I felt an immediate passion for it. I believe that wedding photography is storytelling. Not only are you prepping and composing beautiful images, but you're also capturing the day's emotions, events, and other beautiful candid moments. I feel so fortunate and privileged to be on that journey with my couples and their families!
Aside from documenting your day, I love meeting with couples as often as needed before the wedding day. I know planning can be super stressful, so I want to assist as much as possible. Whether it is in person, on video, or by email, I will be there for you. I want to help build timelines and scout locations, and execute your vision for the day!
Another fun fact about me, I just recently graduated with my MBA and have four cats at home that love cuddling with me while I edit photos.
My Family.
My husband and I got married in 2018! He is my best friend and is often a wonderful helper during engagement sessions. :)
Mastered It.
2022 was a big year! I finally finished my MBA concentration in Marketing degree. I work full-time in marketing & communications for my 9-5 job!
Grapefruit Photo.
From 2017 - 2022 I worked as a lead photographer with Grapefruit Photo in Atlanta, GA. It was an incredible experience and a perfect beginning to my wedding photography journey.
